I think the issue with many of these books is that they were conceived from an interesting idea that can however be summarised in one or two pages, like the concept of anti fragile, but then they are stretched to fill an entire book. It is also common that many of these authors put all their ideas into a great book and then they just milk their success. For me, "The Black Swan" was that great book, packed with information and as you mentioned, touching on this interconnectedness of ideas, which is quite unique aspect of him. As an astrophysicists, I consider his thoughts on epistemology to have influenced me quite a bit.
